About Us

We keep health care decisions where they belong—between patients and their doctors.

Our History

Founded in 1980 by Carle Clinic Association, P.C., one of the nation’s biggest multi-specialty group practices, we have grown to be the largest health plan in downstate Illinois.

Health Alliance serves nearly 300,000 members in Illinois and Iowa—and come 2014, we’re expanding into two new states—Washington and Nebraska.

Here’s what our offerings look like.

Health Alliance Plans
StatePlans Offered
Illinois Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Supplement plans, Employer Group plans, Individual plans, Dual-eligible (Medicare and Medicaid) plans, Medicaid plans
Iowa Medicare plans (only in Pottawattamie County), Employer Group plans
Nebraska Medicare plans, Individual plans, Employer Group plans
Washington Medicare plans

In Washington, the doctors of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center and Confluence Health formed a partnership with Health Alliance Medicare, bringing together local health care and local health care coverage for Medicare beneficiaries in north central Washington.

Health Alliance provides similar offerings to Medicare beneficiaries in Nebraska through a partnership with Alegent Creighton Health. We’ll bring access to quality health care from trusted doctors, easy-to-use money-saving programs and top-notch customer service to beneficiaries in the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area. Health Alliance will also offer individual and small group plans through that relationship in Omaha, as well as with other Catholic Health Initiatives partners, Nebraska Heart Institute & Heart Hospital and Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, in Lincoln.

Beginning in 2014, Health Alliance will also serve those with Medicaid in 15 counties in Central Illinois through Health Alliance Connect. Our Connect members will enjoy patient-centered benefits, focused on getting the right care.

Because of our focus on quality and a strong network of providers, we’re able to keep health care decisions where they belong—between patients and their doctors.
